Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by moving a ball into the opposing team’s net. Players primarily use their feet to pass, dribble, and shoot the ball, but they can also use other parts of their body except for the arms and hands; only the goalkeepers are allowed to handle the ball within their designated area.

Football is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with goals at each end. The game is governed by a set of rules called the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) and globally recognized by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association).

There are various forms and styles of football, with association football (soccer) being the most popular worldwide. Other variants include American football, Australian rules football, and rugby football, each with unique rules and gameplay. Football is known for its passionate fan base and significant cultural impact, encompassing local, national, and international competitions, including prestigious tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup.
